Plumber Jason Francis explains how to prepare for the colder months
What’s the best thing people can do to get their gas bills down?
Smart meters are great to keep track of what you’re actually spending. I warn you, though, this may turn into an obsession. In all honestly it’s a great way to see a breakdown of your daily usage.
What’s your biggest piece of advice to keep people safe?
If you have a buy-to-let property, you will know that it’s mandatory to have an annual gas safety inspection carried out, but even if you don’t own more than one property, it’s essential to have regular inspections.
Did you know that one in six properties have unsafe boilers? Do yourself and your family a favour and have your boiler checked.
How can we make our radiators as efficient as possible?
Thermostatic radiator valves. TRVs are an inexpensive way of creating and controlling temperature zones throughout your house or flat.
These “intelligent” valves work by sensing air temperature and regulating the flow of water through the radiator to keep the room at the right level of warmth.
They can help reduce bills by limiting the energy used in a particular room and preventing unnecessary overheating.
How can I get the most from my supplier?
As I mentioned, a smart meter installed by your energy supplier puts you in control of what you’re spending and many are encouraging customers to have them fitted. Take up the offer and save yourself some cash.
Why choose you?
I’m knowledgeable in my field and customers have told me that they feel I’m very approachable and fair with pricing. Building a long-term relationship with my customers is very important to me and is key for repeat business. It’s essential that they feel comfortable knowing they can come back to me because they trust me and feel happy with my work.
