The 2nd Annual World Cinema Film Festival is back!

Conceived and developed by Bluebird Pictures founder Joelle May-David, the festival will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of June at The Barking Broadway Theatre. Spread over two days, it will consist of several screenings of critically acclaimed short films from around the world, representing the diversity of Barking & Dagenham and East London generally.

Highlights include guest speakers, including industry professionals and filmmakers, as well as an opportunity to feast on local cuisine from local businesses, many of which represent the diversity of the area.

The event plans to have a summer festival atmosphere that will allow attendees to pick and choose which talks and screenings they will attend, while offering networking opportunities with other creatives. The festival culminates with an award ceremony.

We’re really excited about this event – it provides tremendous opportunities for creative East Londoners and it’s great to see Barking & Dagenham becoming the film hub of the capital. Watch this space, and expect to see this film festival grow from strength to strength over the coming years.
